4 days only, November 28 until December 1, 2013, 10.00-20.00Hrs, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICOC) launches the international trade platform: Expo Turkey in Thailand together with Turkish art and cultural performances highlighting the paper marbling and glass blowing shows.
Mr. Dursun Topcu, Vice President of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICOC), Republic of Turkey revealed that “The relationship between Turkey and Thailand has been established for more than 55 years, with explicit policies that support the trade and investment between these two countries. First Thai-Turkish Action plan was signes by both Prime Ministers along with many agreements on culture, tourism, trade and political fields. Therefore, Expo Turkey in Thailand is the first international trade platform to introduce the new markets from Republic of Turkey to Thai businesspeople who are looking for the products or services with competitive quality and price in response to the upcoming AEC market.”
Turkey is the 6th largest economy in Europe and 17th in the world. It offers unique geographic opportunities at the crossroads of Asia, Europe and the Middle East and brings together two important continents: Asia and Europe. Because of its unique location, Turkey gives an opportunity for an easy access to 1.5 billion customers in Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East and North Africa. During global crises in 2010 and 2011, Turkey has had a remarkable period of growth reaching 9.2% in 2010 and 8.8% in 2011. It was the second biggest growth rate in the world after China and the first in Europe. Moreover, known as the “rising economy” worldwide, OECD estimates that Turkey will be the fastest growing economy among the OECD member countries with an annual average growth rate of 5.2% in 2012-2017.
On the other hand Thailand is the 29th largest economy in the world with its growth rate of 6.4%. It is a gateway into the heart of Asia, one of the member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). According to the World Bank surveys on countries’ investment attractiveness, Thailand is the fourth rank in Eastern Asia-Pacific region. It offers an access to the ASEAN market of a 600 million people.
“Starting from Today, Expo Turkey in Thailand will last for 4 days, during November 28 to December 1, 2013, 10.00-20.00Hrs at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok. It covers 4.500 square meters and 40 Turkish companies are participating. In the exhibition hundreds of products from sectors ranging from “food, gift, building supplies, tea, souvenirs, textile, marble, shoes, transportation, lightning, olive, rugs, ovens cookers, organic soil and fertilizer” will be on display. There is a business lounge where B2B meetings of Thai and Turkish companies will be held.
Turkish folkloric dance will be performed during the exhibition, as a visual celebration of dancing together, acting together, and therefore sharing together and a means of self-expression that best describes the character of the Turkish person. Also, during the exhibition, there will be two stands for Turkish “paper marbling” and “glass-blowing” artists. Moreover there will be surprise gifts for the visitors of our exhibition.
