HORECA ASIA 2017 starts off its first year with good news as 300 Thai and foreign buyers are interested in joining the business matching session at HORECA ASIA 2017, an international trade show for operators in hotel, restaurant, cafe, and catering service industries, which will be held during 12-14 July 2017 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok. The objective of the event is to serve business demands for raw materials, goods, and services, and to open up trade opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs, enabling them to conduct business in the international scale.
Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB, together with Mrs. Ladda Mongkolchaivivat, Managing Director of Asia HORECA Co., Ltd. presided at the opening ceremony of the International Trade Fair for Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services for the year 2017 or HORECA ASIA 2017 among 100 leading SMEs operators who participated in the event.
Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB revealed that TCEB gave HORECA ASIA 2017 a lot of attention because it was the most comprehensive exhibition of HORECA products and services in Asia which would open up trade opportunities and encourage the exchange of experiences and knowledge in business. The knowledge shared in turn would result in the improvement of Thai industry and entrepreneurs who would be better compete in the international market. At the same time, the event also invited MICE visitors to come to experience the standard of service and readiness of Thailand. In 2017, Thailand aimed to attract 1.1 million foreign MICE businesspeople, which would contribute to over 101 billion baht income.
Mrs. Ladda Mongkolchaivivat managing director of Asia HORECA Co., Ltd. stated that the overall market of HORECA business this year would grow by an average of 9 percent as a result of a government’s plan to stimulate tourism and top-level markets. The hotel business could generate up to 574 billion baht in which four-star hotels and boutique hotels, or theme hotels, are likely to be particularly active. Restaurants, cafes, bakeries, ice cream parlors, and banquet industries are expected to generate up to 77,423 million baht. At present, there are 11,945 registered companies, 99.72% of which are SMEs are SMEs, and this is an interesting figure.
The HORECA ASIA 2017 event will answer business needs and prepare for advancement in business as a hub of producers, suppliers, and service providers in designing, marketing, and managing that are related to the HORECA business, not to mention seminars that will be held throughout the 3 days of the event to develop knowledge base in management and marketing. At the same time, there will be a business matching session which receives a lot of interest from up to 300 domestic and foreign operators.
Highlights of this event are product demonstrations, design innovations, and management techniques which are especially useful for hotel, restaurant, and catering businesses to help entrepreneurs reduce production and administration costs while allowing them to generate incomes through new approaches, such as repositioning old businesses for new markett to stay consistent with changing consumer behavior and market needs in the Thailand 4.0 era.
HORECA ASIA 2017 will be joined by over 70 booths of entrepreneurs in 5 pavilions, 30 of which are hosted by international operators. It is expected to attract around 8,000 buyers, 20% of them will be from China, Taiwan, South Korea, India, Indonesia, and CLMV, who are designers, marketers, advertisers, business people, investors, business operators in hotel, restaurant, bakery, cafe, real estate, house, condominium, and apartment businesses, and the general public.
